A NEW CD
-
November 9, 2009
Hey Everyone,
I have been working on recording a cd for a little while now, and I hope to have it released within the near future (less than a month). It will consist of a bunch of songs in which I have a full band behind me as well as a couple songs that are just me and my acoustic guitar. I will let you all know when it is ready for sale. The goal is to have a full-length cd that will be prepared to hit your ipod hard and fast. If you have any questions feel free to write me, I am always excited to hear from you. I will keep you posted on the release but until then I appreciate your support and give you my best.

The process may take some time but when everything is done I hope you all will enjoy the result. I will keep you posted on what's going on and how far I am on the cd. Best wishes

Every Friday I will be playing with Dave Facenda on the deck at the waterfront shops in Duck , North Carolina (that's if the weather is permitting). If you're in the area please stop by and check out the music and the sunsets. The show times may vary as summer begins, but I will start playing somewhere between 5-7. Hope to see you all there.

Missing Something
-
March 25, 2008
I'm sure everyone has missed something so badly they can feel it eating away at their personality. Something that slowly tears apart who you thought you were or what you thought you could be. I don't write this to teach a lesson but because I have a myspace page and I can. Everyday I wake up hoping to return to the paradise I left behind earlier this year. I want so badly to recapture the brilliance the land of the OUter Banks has and will continue to have long after i'm gone. I always thought the feeling of loss was a sign of weakness, an indicator that you weren't strong enough to deal with the inevitabilities of life. However, since my greatest loss I have felt nothing but longing. A longing that doesn't simply fester in the stagnation of inactivity, but rather pours into the furnace that drives me to motion and creativity. With this being said I hope the readers understand that I do not wish to remain in a perpetual state of loss in order to fuel creativity (although this was my philosophy for a very long time). I initially went to the Outer Banks to explore the depths of loneliness and to undergo living conditions in an empty house with nobody around to accompany my daily life. I wanted to break ties and erase comfort in hopes that I could reach the nadir of sadness. Fortunately enough just the opposite happened. I entered a world of bliss and great companionship. A world where hippies and vagabonds opened whatever they had to supply some semblance of companionship. A world that where hospitality wasn't a badge but rather an inherent quality that, no matter how hard one tried, could not be left at the ocean to wash up in the hands of another desperate human. I found the most beautiful place among the greatest instability I have ever found. Just one strip of land drives me to discover hope in the rest of my life. So often two words bring out the best life has to offer: "Currituck Sound." Standing on the shores of this beautiful body of water was like falling in love with an expensive hooker from Amsterdam. So going back to my original topic, I have learned to cherish the feeling of loss and the torture of missing because of a small strip of land in the Atlantic Ocean and the people who inhabit it. no longer do I feel weak, insecure, disposable by this fact but rather empowered by my understanding. To miss is to open yourself to sentimentality, and sentimentality is what makes us reach out and try to help/change/improve the conditions we see our fellow brothers and sisters endure. If this is what I learned from loss (or even the magnificent Outer Banks) than I received the greatest lesson I could have ever asked for. Compassion and true feeling will set us all free from the imprisonment we feel each day we wake up.
